Aarhus University and TECH are proud to present Professor Arthur Mol of Wageningen University with an Honorary Doctorate at the AU annual celebration 2026. 

To celebrate, you are invited to join a seminar on: How can the EU balance resilience, resources and sustainability in a changing world. 

The seminar is at 14.15-15.45 on September 10th, 2026, and takes place at Eduard Biermann Søauditoriet at the University campus. Vice-Dean at Tech Michelle Williams will moderate.

The world has changed dramatically over the past decade. What was once shaped by multilateralism, free trade and a shared commitment to sustainability is now increasingly defined by geopolitical tension, strategic competition and insecurity. While much attention is focused on Europe’s military security, professor Arthur Mol turns to two other urgent questions in his lecture at Aarhus University: How is the EU trying to secure access to critical minerals and food in a more unstable world? And what are the political, economic and environmental costs of doing so? 

Join us for a timely lecture on Europe’s search for security in an age of volatility — and the difficult trade-offs between resilience, sustainability and global responsibility.
