Stay updated on your newest colleauges in the Department of Biological and Chemical Engineering, and on who we say goodbye to.
Adil Shah has been employed as a Postdoc in the research group Emission Measurement and Mitigation from Agriculture, in the section Air Quality and Emission Engineering, as of 1 June.
Adil is from United Kingdom and joins us from a postdoctoral position at Laboratoire des Sciences du Climat et de l’Environnement, Institut Pierre-Simon Laplace, where he worked, among other things, on measuring methane emissions from landfills using various methods.
At BCE, Adil will contribute to determining nitrous oxide and methane emissions from deep-litter housing systems.
We look forward to welcoming Adil.
Adil will have AU Viborg as his primary workplace.
Nektaria Liakouli is employed as a PhD student in Selin Kara's research group Biocatalysis and Bioprocessing, in the section Process Engineering, from 1 June 2026.
Nektaria is of Greece nationality and was as a MSc. student at the University of Crete, where she completed her MSc Study in Biological and Organic Chemistry-Biochemistry. At BCE, Nektaria will contribute with her doctoral thesis research on biocatalytic oxyfunctionalization & flow biocatalysis.
We are looking forward to welcoming Nektaria in our Department.
Nektaria will be working at Gustav Wieds Vej 10D.
Jamie Lustermans has started as postdoc in the Microbial Electrosynthesis research group, headed by Jo Philips, in the section Bioprocess Engineering, on June 1st 2026.
Jamie obtained a Carlsberg reintegration grant to return to Denmark after a postdoc position at the University of Antwerp (Belgum) and a PhD at the Center for Electromicrobiology at Aarhus University.
Jamie has a strong expertise in electromicrobiology and will work on designing electroactive biofilm consortia.
We are very happy to welcome Jamie in our team!
Heine Øhlenschläger has been employed as an Agricultural Technician in the technician team. He will be affiliated with Anders Feilberg in the Air Quality and Emissions Engineering section from 1 June 2026.
Heine joins us from a position in Technical Support at LELY Nordic A/S, where his work involved providing technical support, advising customers, and documenting technical solutions.
At BCE, Heine will contribute technical support and technical solutions for field and livestock housing experiments.
We look forward to welcoming Heine to our technician team.
Heine will have Campus Viborg as his primary workplace.
Sarah Broholt Dinesen is employed for two years as AC-TAP in the technical group where she will be working with Menglin Chen. Sarah will have her first working day Monday May 4th.
Sarah holds a master degree from the Department of Molecular Biology. She has worked for three years as a researcher and one year as a scientific assistant.
We are looking forward to welcoming Sarah at Gustav Wieds Vej.
Raffaele Grieco is employed as a postdoc in the research group Low-Emission Livestock Facilities, in the section Air Quality and Emission Engineering, from 1 May.
Raffaele has until now been employed on a Research Scholarship at the University of Naples Federico II after completing his PhD. He has previously worked with management and emissions from stored and digested manure.
At BCE, Raffaele will work on the STOREMIS project with greenhouse gas and ammonia emissions from different types of stored livestock manure. His work will contribute to strengthening our understanding of the processes, microbes, and manure characteristics that drive gas emissions from manure, and will thereby help further develop existing farm-level models for predicting gas emissions.
Raffaele will have Campus Viborg as his primary workplace. We look forward to welcoming him to Air Quality and Emission Engineering.
Nan Xu is employed as a postdoc in the research group Emission Measurement and Mitigation from Agriculture (EMMA), in the section Air Quality and Emission Engineering, from 1 May.
Nan is from China and comes from a position as a PhD student at the Department of Agroecology, where she worked with life cycle assessments and nitrous oxide emissions from agriculture.
At BCE, Nan will contribute with quantification of the effects of nitrification inhibitors and biochar on ammonia emissions following the application of manure.
We look forward to welcoming Nan to Air Quality and Emission Engineering.
Nan will have Campus Viborg as her primary workplace.
